2008 Spring Training Camp: Breisach

Hello out there from Breisach, Germany. We’re into our second week of training camp here in this quaint little German town, rowing three times a day on the Rhine. “We” consists of myself and Ellen---the sole scullers in the group—and the entirety of the women’s sweep group.


Germany M4x

The German quad has undergone some changes since Lucerne and it appears to have paid off with a win in the heats.

Germany M8+

The 2006 World Champions will defend their title in their own country this year. The eights race is going to be a barn burner as many countries look to qualify for the Olympics.

Germany M4-

The straight four is one of the deepest events and to win you have to go through British. This German quartet came close last year, finishing just 1 second behind to claim siler.

The German women's eight was second at the World Championships last year and much of that boat is represented here.

Germany won a tight final in Lucerne in the women's four but this is a different line-up for Worlds. The event here has 6 entries and could be final only.
