Eagle Creek Reservoir

About this Location

Occasionally and affectionately dubbed "windy Indy", the Eagle Creek Reservoir racecourse is home to a number of large-scale regattas. The reservoir consists of about 1,350 acres of protected watershed, which is meant to serve as a water supply for the Indianapolis metropolitan area. The reservoir is bordered on the north by Eagle Creek Park, the only self-funded public park in Indiana, and one of the largest city parks in the nation.
The racecourse on Eagle Creek is a seven lane buoyed course which runs north to south, complete with stakeboats, finish line tower, and awards dock.
