Lake Natoma

About this Location
Lake Natoma is a dammed portion of the American River just outside of Sacramento, California. The Nimbus Dam sits at the southern end of the lake and just beyond the finish line of the Natoma race course. The course at Lake Natoma is seven lanes with stakeboats and start- and finish line towers, making it capable of hosting large-scale regattas--which it does annually with all of the major west coast collegiate conference championships. The CSUS Aquatic Center is located on Lake Natoma, providing public access to a number of aquatic recreational activities such as swimming, canoe & kayak, and paddle boating. Other park recreationalists are attracted by the picnic areas and the running and bike trails situated along the banks of the lake.
