Mike Teti
US Rowing - National Team Head Coach

Mike has been the U.S. National Team Head Coach since 1996. In that time his crews have won the men's eight 5 times. At the 2004 Athens Olympics the men's eight won gold, the first time a U.S. crew had accomplished this since 1964. They set the world record in the heat that same week.

Competitively Mike was a three-time Olympian and 12-time National Team member. He won bronze in the men's eight in 1985 and then gold in 1987.
In 1988 he won bronze at the 1988 Olympic Games in the eight.

Matt Imes
US Rowing - National Team Assistant Coach

Matt has been a U.S. assistant coach since 2000. Prior to that he was the men's freshman coach at Oregon State. In 2003 he was named the USOC Developmental Coach of the Year for rowing.
Matt rowed at the University of Wisconsin.

Sean Mulligan
University of Washington - Former Asst. Women's Coach
U.S. National Team - Coxswain from 1997-1999

Sean coached 4 successful years of at the University of Washington. There he directed the Men's varsity four to the National Championship at the 2003 IRA Championship, then took a full-time position as the varsity women's assistant and recruiting coordinator.

From 2004-2006 his women's varsity four crews were a staple in the NCAA Grand Finals, highlighted by second and third place finishes in 2004 and 2005 respectively.

Sean coxed at the University of Washington from 1995-1999.
In 1997 his crew went undefeated and won the Varsity 8 event at the IRA. He has also placed second and third in that event in 1998 and 1999.

Sean competed on the U.S. National Team from 1997-1999. In 1997 he was part of a U-23 crew that won gold in Belgium. The next summer he coxed the U.S. lightweight eight to second place at the World Championships.
In 1999 he was part of the U.S. coxed four that won the gold medal at the World Championships in St. Catharines.

Emil Kossev

Emil Kossev is the head coach at Seattle’s Pocock Rowing Center
and a member of the 2004 U.S. Olympic rowing team staff. Since 1992, twenty-eight of Emil’s athletes and crews have earned medals in the elite international competition including silver medal at the 2005 World Championships, a bronze at the 2004 World Championships, two silver and two bronze medals at the 2003 Pan American Games and gold in the men’s single sculls at the 2000 Olympic Qualification Regatta and gold in the men’s single sculls at the 2000 Slovakian Olympic Trials.

His athletes have also won gold in the men’s single sculls at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials and women’s single sculls at the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials. Kossev is a four-time Bulgarian national team member and won thirteen Bulgarian national sculling titles between 1982 and 1991.

In March 2005 Emil was a first-time nominee for the Counsilman Award given by US Olympic Committee (USOC) and is being recognized for his practical application of sport science in the preparation of elite athletes for high-performance competitions.

Emil graduated from the National Sport Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria with a BA of Physical Education and Coaching Sculling. He has his Master of Sport in rowing from the Bulgarian League for Physical Culture & Sport in Sofia.
